The hyperbaric chamber (HBOT) is the one people ask the most questions about before they try it, which is fair — it is an enclosed chamber and it is pressurised, and that is worth understanding before you get in rather than after.

What actually happens

You lie down inside. The chamber pressurises over a few minutes, and your ears pop the way they do on a plane — you clear them the same way. Then you are in there for the session and most people listen to something or sleep.

Who should ask us first

This is the one modality where we would rather you asked before booking. If you have had recent ear or sinus trouble, any lung condition, or you are pregnant, raise it in the consultation. Some people should not use a chamber, and that is a conversation to have with us and with your own doctor — not a box to tick on a booking form.

Claustrophobia

Asked more than any other question. The chamber is clear, you can see out, and you can speak to staff the whole time. If you are unsure, ask to see it during the consultation without booking anything — that is a normal request and nobody will push you.
